We are Labrador & Golden Retriever breeders based in Tassagh, Co. Armagh Northern Ireland, 1.2 hours from both Dublin and Belfast.
About Baltarram Retrievers
Baltarram Retrievers is based in the countryside just outside Armagh City. Our Labrador and Golden Retriever puppies are placed in both show and family homes across Ireland and the UK.
My interest in dogs began at a young age with my first Golden Retriever, Honey (Candy Crunch, DOB 14/12/1990). Through attending open shows and local dog matches, we gained valuable experience together and achieved several first-place wins.
My involvement in the championship show world began with the purchase of Lawpark Savana (DOB 25/11/1993) from Uel Craig of Lawpark Kennels. This marked the start of many years working with dogs from this well-established line. I remained actively involved in showing until 2010, when work and family commitments led me to step away.
In 2015, I returned to Golden Retrievers with the addition of Juno (Thornywait Lolita at Baltarram) from Susanna Zubair of Thornywait Kennel. Juno remains an important part of the kennel, alongside her daughters Penny (Baltarram Ramona) and Lola (Baltarram Wind River).
My introduction to Labradors began with Ruby (Rocheby Sunflowers at Baltarram), bred by Marion and David Hopkinson of the renowned Rocheby Kennel. Ruby has enjoyed success in the show ring, earning a number of awards, and continues to be a valued member of the kennel.
Today, we are committed to breeding healthy, well-balanced Labradors and Golden Retrievers that closely reflect the breed standard. I have also begun judging Labradors at open show level and aim to continue developing in this area.
Our goal is to produce dogs that can excel in the show ring while also becoming exceptional family companions. Raised in a home environment, our dogs develop into confident, well-adjusted individuals suited to a variety of lifestyles.
We place a strong emphasis on temperament, breeding Labradors and Golden Retrievers with the friendly, confident, and easy-going nature that makes them such valued companions.
